Cameron Delport has proved a big hit at the Fischer County Ground after signing for the club in white ball cricket in 2016.

The left-hander offered the Foxes a powerful batting option at the top of the order, bowled useful medium pace and was also dynamic in the field as he cemented a place in both the T20 Blast and Royal London One-Day Cup sides.

Delport made an impact for the Foxes during the summer of 2016. He was terrific with the bat against Lancashire Lightning in T20 Blast while his all-round performance against Notts Outlaws went a long way to securing the two points in the Royal London One-Day Cup.

As a result, Delport signed a similar deal to return to the Fischer County Ground for the 2017 season. A great performance in the Second XI at Northants, where Delport scored 157, then resulted in the all-rounder being handed his first-class debut against Glamorgan.

Delport played in every white ball fixture for Leicestershire in the 2017 season, proving to be key at the top of the order and a more than handy option with the ball. Delport’s highlight came in the crucial NatWest T20 Blast fixture against Nottinghamshire where he smashed an unbeaten 109 taking the Foxes through to the quarter finals of the competition.

The all-rounder was another Fox to sign a new contract in 2017, extending his stay until the end of the 2019 season.

Delport has become an important part of T20 teams across the globe. He has played more than 100 T20 games worldwide, including being signed for two spells with Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League and also representing Sydney Thunder in the KFC Big Bash.

The 27-year-old has recently played for Hollywood Bets Dolphins in the CSA T20 Challenge. In one particular game he scored 93 not out as an opener and then claimed 4 for 26.
