Mark Pettini established himself in Leicestershire's side in all three formats of the game after joining ahead of the 2016 season. He was the club’s leading run-scorer in T20 Blast.

The 34-year-old stroke-maker had previously spent his entire career with Essex and has a fine record across the board. He has amassed 8,933 first-class runs at an average of 35.16, including 49 fifties and 15 centuries.

Pettini joined Leicestershire in fine fettle. The batsman came into Essex’s Specsavers County Championship team for the final four matches of the 2015 season and a good run of form saw him post scores of 134, 68 and 117 not out as he ended with a terrific average of over 100.

The batsman is able to play to any situation, with his trademark to play aggressive innings as an opener in white ball cricket and being steady in the middle order in the Specsavers County Championship.

Pettini hit the first centuries for Leicestershire in the Specsavers County Championship and Royal London One Day Cup in 2017.

Against Warwickshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup, Pettini hit 159 - Leicestershire's highest List A individual score versus another county - in a stunning knock and averaged 42 in the competition.
