Paul Nixon scored his 1,000th Twenty20 run during last night's defeat at Nottinghamshire Outlaws.
The wicket-keeper scored exactly the nine runs he required to reach the milestone, and becomes the third Leicestershire Foxes batsman to achieve it, following Darren Maddy and HD Ackerman in the record books.
Maddy was first to reach the landmark, and he scored 1,069 runs in total for the club.
Ackerman is the all-time leading scorer, and his tally has been extended from 1,093 to 1,193 this season.
Nixon has also claimed 41 dismissals during his 55 appearances in the competition, which also marks another impressive statistic, as the club captain has been named in every single Leicestershire starting line-up named since the introduction of Twenty20 cricket in 2003.
In total, the club would have played 61 fixtures had the weather not intervened, but six of those were abandoned without a ball being bowled or a line-up being confirmed.
Nixon will now hope to extend his run-scoring tally in the critical last two groups against Yorkshire and Durham.
