Record-breaking duo put Seconds in command

Matthew Boyce and Josh Cobb hit majestic double-centuries and broke a Second XI Championship partnership record in the process on a memorable first day against Lancashire.

The team recovered from the loss of an early wicket in emphatic style as Boyce (201) and Cobb (208*) shared the highest-ever second wicket stand in the history of the Second XI Championship - a staggering 402.

Boyce and Cobb, who played superbly against a good visiting attack, helped Leicestershire to end the day with an imposing tally of 448-2 from 104 overs.

Leicestershire's bowlers will now look to press home their advantage on the second day of the game at Leicester Ivanhoe CC.
