Paul Dixey made 78 as Leicestershire Second XI posted 389 on the opening day of the Championship game against Worcestershire.

There were contributions throughout the order with Ned Eckersley (68) the other player to make a half-century at Kidderminster.

James Ord (48), Will MacVicar (42) and Liam Kinch (40) also played well, and a number of other players made scores in the twenties.

Worcestershire had a tricky spell to bat and closed on 14 without loss.
