Rob Taylor took 3-20 as Leicestershire Second XI bowled out Lancashire for 217 on the first day of the Championship game at Northern CC.

Leicestershire Second XI put up some spirited resistance at Derbyshire before going down to a 164-run defeat in the four-day friendly at the County Ground.
Set 409 to win, Leicestershire were dismissed for 245 following half-centuries from Will MacVicar, Liam Kinch and Pete Handscomb.
Derbyshire made 522-8 declared in their first innings with James Sykes taking three wickets. MacVicar and Paul Hindmarch took two apiece and Rob Taylor and Liam Kinch picked up one each. Matt Lineker scored 193 and Tom Poynton 137 for the hosts.
Leicestershire progressed to 258-6 at stumps on day two and were bowled out on the third morning for 331. Ned Eckersley was again in the runs with 66 while Lewis Hill also impressed in scoring 61.
Lineker then registered his second hundred of the game as Derbyshire declared on 217-4 in their second knock to set County an extremely tough target.
The team gave it their best shot but eventually came up short. The Second XI's next game is a Championship game against MCC Universities at Kibworth starting on Wednesday, August 10.
