Date: Thursday 09 February 2012

Leicestershire CCC is pleased to announce that Paul Nixon has agreed to become a Club Ambassador.

Nixon, who scored 12,088 first-class runs for the Club in two spells after making his debut in 1989, will join the Commercial team to help increase the Club's Commercial revenue and provide support at certain selected events.

Nixon also amassed 5,875 List A runs and was ever-present in the t20 team after making his debut when the competition started in 2003.

The wicket-keeper lifted the trophy on three occasions and is the Foxes all-time leading scorer in the domestic competition with 1,423 runs.

Nixon also claimed 49 catches and 20 stumpings during that time. He is a popular person at the Club and is delighted to take on the role.

Nixon said: "I am delighted to be offered the opportunity to join the Commercial team as Club Ambassador. I will do my utmost to take Leicestershire forward.”

Chief Executive Mike Siddall said "Paul will work in a part-time capacity to fit in with his other commitments and I am delighted to welcome him into this very important and innovative role for the Club.”

“I am really pleased that Paul is continuing his long association with the Club."
