Tennant was given a new role at the end of the 2013 season, and he will now have responsibility for the Second XI as well as helping to continue the development of the bowlers at Grace Road.
Tennant has also been on seven ECB tours in his role as England under 19s bowling coach. He went to the World Cup in Australia in 2012 and is going out to the 2014 World Cup in United Arab Emirates in February to pass on his expertise. Leicestershire CCC off-spinner Rob Sayer is part of the squad.
