Ollie Freckingham made a huge impression during his first full season on the Leicestershire CCC staff. The paceman played in all but one of our LV=CC fixtures and was leading wicket-taker.

Freckingham took 35 wickets at an average of 44, including a nine-wicket match at Northamptonshire. He took his a career-best 6-125 at Wantage Road and also picked up four-fors against Gloucestershire and Lancashire.

That led to the 24-year-old being awarded with the Frank S Smith for Bowling in the First XI, as well as winning the Livingston Award for being the most improved uncapped player at Grace Road.

Freckingham also showed promise with the bat throughout the campaign, and he says his challenge now is to find consistency in his bowling in the four-day arena while looking to break into the one-day teams.

Consistently the quickest and most threatening bowler in the Everards league for Loughborough Town CC, the Rutland-born seamer was given his opportunity in the Second XI and has not looked back since.

Freckingham was part of the Leicestershire age group set-ups and is a sporting all-rounder. He is also an excellent golfer and has played football at a decent local standard.
