The vastly experienced and highly-talented Scott Styris joined Leicestershire as our second overseas player in 2014.

Styris has tremendous experience in T20 both with New Zealand and in the Indian Premier League with Chennai Super Kings and the Deccan Chargers.

Styris made the headlines in 2012 when helping to amass a world record 38 runs in an over for Sussex in the quarter-final against Gloucestershire.

The all-rounder scored an unbeaten century off just 37 deliveries, which was the joint third fastest T20 ton of all time. He hit nine sixes in that phenomenal innings.

Styris is closing in on 4,000 runs in the T20 format and has an amazing strike rate of 134.92 from 170 innings. Styris has struck 243 fours and 188 sixes in his T20 career and his explosive batting will give the Foxes’ batting line-up a huge boost.

He has made twelve T20 fifties and two hundreds and also bowls canny medium pace. Styris has picked up an impressive haul of 113 wickets at a decent economy rate of under 7.5 an over.

Styris has played in 31 T20 internationals, scoring 578 runs and taking 18 wickets, and his huge knowledge and experience will be useful to captain Josh Cobb.
