Will Jones is a talented young opening batsman who signed a summer contract with Leicestershire CCC at the end of the 2010 season. The youngster made both his first-class and List A debut in 2011.
Jones is currently studying at Cardiff University and in the MCCU programme. He trialled for Leicestershire CCC in 2010 after playing in the 2009 Minor Counties Championship for Hertfordshire.
The opener averaged 53 in the Second XI trophy in 2010 and went to the Global Cricket Academy in Pune, India with fellow opener Greg Smith in January 2011.
Jones gained plenty from that experience and his best innings in 2011 came against Sussex at Stirlands CC. The opener made 159 as part of an impressive victory.
