Leicestershire’s annual Members’ lunch was a great success last Sunday, December 14 in the Charles Palmer Suite.
The festive feast was served along with excellent entertainment, and the club received a letter from Tony Hill in praise of the efforts made by everyone at Grace Road.
He said: “Many thanks and congratulations for organising such a good Members’ party at Grace Road on Sunday. I am sure all who attended had a very enjoyable day.
“The entertainer, quizzes, and involvement of all the guests were great plusses and when added to a first-class Christmas lunch all added up to a first-class event.
“In such a tight economic situation you did extremely well to attract such numbers. The spirit in the room all afternoon from start to finish was very good, due in no small way to your personal efforts and involvement.
“Organising such events is really hard work, I know only too well. Sunday, however, was a great success for the club and your efforts and commitment are to be commended. A good professional, fun day.
“We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Well done, congratulations and thanks.”
Along with the meal was the raffle, which included prizes such as an LCCC Gold membership for 2009, a signed bat and Twenty20 season tickets for the forthcoming season.
