County youngsters Josh Cobb and Joel Pope have lent their support to Heart FM’s bid to raise money for a prostate cancer charity.
The duo have posed for a quirky 2009 calendar which features “tastefully naked men” , and all proceeds raised from sales will go to the Prostate Cancer Trust.
The calendar is the brainchild of Heart FM breakfast presenter Amy Voce, whose father was diagnosed with the condition two-and-a-half years ago.
Amy wants to not only raise money for the charity, but also to raise awareness of the cancer, which is one of the most common suffered by men.
She said: “When I discovered that my dad had been diagnosed with advanced terminal prostate cancer, our family were left to face the heartbreaking reality that he had been given only two years left to live.
“Two-and-a-half years later, he's still fighting and hopefully will be for many years to come. So, I've decided to do my bit to raise awareness of a disease which is one of the most common cancers suffered by men.
“The concept is to produce and sell a calendar featuring tastefully naked men from across the East Midlands up to Christmas with all of the money raised going toward research and raising awareness into prostate cancer.”
Copies of the calendar are limited to 2,000. To order the calendar, which costs just £5, please visit Heart FM’s website at http://www.heart106.com/pre-order-your-copy-now-5757.
