SET: Leicestershire Second XI 170-3 (Boyce 93, Cobb 36) beat MCC Young Cricketers 168-5 (Garside 3-25) by seven wickets.
Matthew Boyce made 93 from 94 balls as Leicestershire Second XI beat MCC Young Cricketers by seven wickets at Ashby Hastings CC on Monday.
Boyce shared 45 for the first wicket with Greg Smith and 58 for the second with Josh Cobb (36) as the team triumphed in a rain-reduced game.
MCC earlier made 168-5 from their allotted 37 overs, with Kieran Garside the pick of the attack with 3-25 from seven overs.
County then overhauled their target with 21 balls remaining as Boyce took centre stage.
The left-hander was in fine touch at the wicket, and followed on from an unbeaten 45 in the Championship draw with Essex last week.
Boyce will now be looking to continue that form at Surrey in the four-day game which starts on Friday.
* The three-day Championship game against MCC at Ashby Hastings CC was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
