Second XI Trophy: Leicestershire 2nd XI 284-7 (Flowers 87, du Toit 38) beat Derbyshire 2nd XI 271 (Sadler 84, Sykes 3-40, du Toit 2-29, Buck 2-40, Roberts 2-42) by 13 runs.
Leicestershire Second XI won their latest SET match against Derbyshire by 13 runs at Grace Road.
Tom Flowers top-scored and anchored the innings with 87 for County, while there were contributions all-round from everyone else.
Greg Smith made 19, Sunny Patel 20, Jacques du Toit 38, Alex Roberts 29, Joel Pope 20 and Liam Kinch 30 as the side made 284-7.
Opener Flowers looked well-set to make a century, but the batsman suffered the misfortune of being run out just 13 runs short of the landmark.
The bowling honours were also shared, with slow left armer Jamie Sykes the pick of the attack, working his way through the middle-order with 3-40 from ten overs.
du Toit, Nathan Buck and Roberts all also picked up two-fors, while Kinch claimed 1-44 from ten overs of economical off-spin.
Former Leics man John Sadler made 84 for the visitors, and after a collapse from 163-2 to 214-9, were almost rescued by Atif Sheikh and Mark Lawson.
The duo shared 57 for the last wicket and threatened to snatch an unlikely win, until Buck (2-40) wrapped up the innings with seven balls remaining.
