James Taylor made 24* from 14 balls as England Lions tied their final group game against India A at Worcester yesterday.
After Ian Bell made a sparkling 158 and Darren Stevens (64) and Steve Davies (54) both made half-centuries, Taylor added some late impetus despite wickets falling around him.
His knock included two fours and a six and looked as though he had helped to take the game out of India's reach with a score of 343-8.
However, Shikhar Dhawan, who has already scored a triple century in first class cricket, set India on their way with a well-crafted century.
Liam Plunkett took 4-58 but India A managed to scramble a bye of the last ball of the game to secure a share of the spoils.
The sides have had some good tussles thus far and meet again in the final on the same ground tomorrow (Thursday).
Meanwhile, Leicestershire Second XI have been in action in the Trophy and Championship this week.
The team lost to Durham at Uppingham School by seven wickets.
Matthew Boyce (91) and Will Jones (68) set a platform to build on but from a position of strength at 202-2, the 2s were dismissed for 243.
Durham reached their target with seven overs to go with seven wickets in hand.
Meanwhile Loughborough Town paceman Oliver Freckingham had a great day at Oakham CC yesterday despite Durham making 402-9 dec.
Freckingham took five wickets to check Durham's progress and Leics closed on 40 without loss in reply.
The second day gets underway shortly.
