No play at Grace Road

The third day of the LV=County Championship game between Leicestershire and Surrey has been abandoned.

The heavy rain suffered yesterday was followed by a further deluge overnight, and with more rain falling this morning and a continued poor forecast, umpires Neil Bainton and Vanburn Holder took the sensible decision to abandon play at 9.45am.

Grace Road was completely underwater with huge puddles everywhere and vast amounts of water coming out of the super sopper machine.

There was simply no chance of play and the teams will, weather permitting, try again at 11am tomorrow morning for the final day.
