James Taylor has been nominated as Lumbers' first player of the month for the 2010 season.
The 20-year-old won the award, which is voted for by Leicestershire supporters and sponsored by the jewellers, for his batting performances in April.
Taylor made 88 in the first LV=County Championship match of the season against Northamptonshire and also made 56 in the first-class game at Cambridge MCCU.
Taylor went on to represent England Lions last week and has also made two List A half-centuries in May.
Indeed, he was unbeaten on 92 before bad weather halted the Warwickshire Bears game.
James was presented with the award at lunch of the first day's play against Glamorgan by Senior Coach Tim Boon and Arthur Stafford from Lumbers.
