Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket Limited wishes to appoint a Cricket Development Coach.

Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket (“L&RC”) is the Governing body for the sport in the county and administers all aspects of recreational cricket.

We are currently looking for a Cricket Development Coach to support the Development team in the planning, delivering and monitoring of a co-ordinated program of high quality, professional cricket activities that are reflective of the needs of the sport in the county.

Principal Accountabilities

Responsibilities of the Cricket Development Coach include but are not limited to the following:

  • School curricular cricket activities and coaching
  • School assembly visits
  • Teacher awareness training
  • School competitions and festivals
  • Planning and timetabling the Chance to Shine programme
  • School/club links support

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Experience

  • Qualified UKCC Level 2 Cricket Coach
  • Relevant experience in delivering cricket coaching in schools and clubs
  • Motivated, enthusiastic attitude and able to work effectively on own initiative
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good team player with a flexible approach
  • Own transport and a full UK driving licence
  • An understanding of cricket in Leicestershire and Rutland would be desirable

Conditions of employment

  • 37 hours per week (flexible including evenings and occasional weekends)
  • Salary of £12,000 per annum (plus expenses)
  • 1 year fixed term initially with an option to extend for a further 1 year term
  • The position is based in Leicestershire and Rutland and will report to the Cricket Development Manager
  • The selected candidate to furnish one recent work reference
  • The appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check
