Leicestershire Second XI will take a 110-run lead into the final day of the Championship game against Northamptonshire.

Tom New made 135 and Greg Smith tallied 74 as County moved from 193-1 to 358-4 declared on the second day.

Nathan Buck then marked his return from injury with two wickets as Northants declared on 267-6 to keep hopes of a positive result alive.

Alex Wyatt was the most successful bowler with three wickets while Jigar Naik also claimed a victim.

Leicestershire closed on 19-0 and will look for swift runs on the final day at Desborough Town CC in order to set Northamptonshire a target.
