Paul Nixon was unbeaten in the eighties as Leicestershire Seconds took control of the Championship game at Durham on Day Two.
The team were 124-8 at one stage on day one but recovered impressively to gain a first-innings lead. County posted a competitive tally of 220 and then bowled their hosts out for 215 on the second morning.
Durham resumed on 130-4 but were soon struggling as Nathan Hawkes got to work. The all-rounder took 3-36 and backed up James Sykes' three wickets on the first day.
The slow left armer finished with 3-31 and Nixon then led the way as the team closed on a healthy tally of 267-4, which represents a lead of 272.
Joel Garrett (48) and Jacques du Toit (31) also contributed to the cause and the team will look to make it back-to-back Championship victories tomorrow at the Emirates Durham ICG.
