Leicestershire Seconds had a mixed set of results against Northamptonshire in their latest round of twenty 20 fixtures.
The team, who beat Essex twice in the opening pair of games, had a win and a defeat in low-scoring affairs at Grace Road with Wayne White in particularly good form.
Ned Eckersley (35 from 24 balls) and Kadeer Ali (25 from 21) helped Leicestershire post 115 in the first match and the team bowled and fielded superbly to secure a tight triumph.
White posted excellent figures of 4-1-10-3 while fellow seamers Nadeem Malik (4-0-21-3) and Alex Wyatt (3-0-18-2) also shone.
But Northants won the second game after limiting Leicestershire to 111. Matthew Boyce (28 from 31), Paul Dixey (26 from 26) and White (25 from 19) were the leading run-scorers.
White (3-0-15-1) and Wyatt (2-0-18-1) claimed wickets but an unbroken stand of 60 between David Willey (66* from 36) and Ben Howgego (32* from 39) saw Northants home with four overs to spare.
The team now travel to Shrewsbury School to take on Unicorns twice tomorrow before making the trip to Uxbridge to play two games against Middlesex on Wednesday.
The team will be hoping to secure their place in the final, which will be played on Friday.
