Leicestershire Second XI lost their Trophy game at Worcestershire on Monday by 33 runs.
Worcestershire made 159 at Kidderminster with Coach Lloyd Tennant delighted with the team’s bowling display.
Josh Cobb led the way with three wickets while Harry Gurney, Jigar Naik and Nadeem Malik all took two-fors and a run out rounded off the wicket-taking.
But in reply, Leicestershire were dismissed for 126 with Ned Eckersley (43) and Tom New (38) top-scoring.
Tennant said: “He bowled very well as a unit but we got bogged down by some good bowling from Worcestershire and never really got going.”
The Seconds have won Trophy games against Derbyshire and Durham but lost to Warwickshire, Lancashire, Nottinghamshire and Worcestershire.
The team now take on the same opposition in a three-day Championship game that starts today.
