Joseph and Jones to leave Grace Road

Date: Friday 14 September 2012

Leicestershire CCC duo Robbie Joseph and Will Jones are leaving Grace Road at the end of the season.

Opener and leg-spinner Jones was offered a new contract by the Club but is leaving the game to pursue other career opportunities.

Joseph had a record-breaking debut against Glamorgan, where he took six wickets in each innings in claiming match figures of 12-111, but he has not been offered a new deal at Grace Road.

Chief Executive Mike Siddall said: "The Club wishes both Robbie and Will all the best for the future.

“Robbie burst onto the scene in April with the best figures by a debutant in the history of the Club. Unfortunately he was unable to sustain that level of performance throughout the season.

“We have been impressed with Will's progress since he came back from University and he had forced his way into the first team.

“Despite the fact that we offered him a contract for next season, he has other plans outside cricket."
