Leicestershire CCC are delighted to announce that highly promising all-rounder Shiv Thakor has agreed a new two year deal at the Club.
Thakor has been in outstanding form since coming into the first team. The 18-year-old topped the Leicestershire batting averages in both the LV=CC and CB40 competition.
In the LV=CC, Thakor registered 427 runs at 61.00 with a best of 85 not out against Hampshire. He made four scores of 50 or more in just ten innings and also chipped in with four wickets at 39.75.
Thakor registered two half-centuries in List A cricket with a best of 83*. Thakor scored 165 runs at an average of 55.00 in four innings, so he averaged above 50 across the board.
Chief Executive Mike Siddall said: “We are delighted that Shiv has signed a two year contract. We are developing an exciting, talented group of young players many of whom, like Shiv, have come through our Academy system.”
Thakor is the latest player to sign a new two-year deal in the last few weeks, following in the footsteps of Matthew Boyce, Rob Taylor, Michael Thornely and James Sykes.
Angus Robson, Tom Wells and Ollie Freckingham have also agreed deals for the 2013 season.
