Leicestershire’s Australian overseas player Joe Burns is to return home due to a slight hip injury.
Burns has scored 214 LV=CC runs for the Club at an average of 30.57, while his 197 FL t20 runs came at an average of 28.14 and a strike rate approaching 130.
The batsman, who has been a popular member of the squad at Grace Road, also made 82 runs for the Foxes in YB40 with a best score of 71 against Glamorgan.
Mike Siddall, Leicestershire’s Chief Executive, said: “Joe has been affected by a shin injury and then a slight hip problem during his time with us.
“He is returning home for recuperation and treatment in order to prepare for Brisbane Heat’s trip to India in September for the Champions League. I’d like to thank Joe for his contribution to the team and wish him well in his career in Australia.”
