There was no play on the first day of the LV=CC game between Leicestershire and Hampshire due to a combination of bad light and heavy rain.
It was a bitterly cold day at Grace Road and the toss was delayed because of the poor light at that stage.
Rain then started to fall and an early lunch was taken at 12.10pm with the hope that conditions would improve. But the precipitation was heavy and persistent throughout the afternoon.
Umpires Martin Bodenham and Michael Gough were therefore forced to abandon the day at 3.30pm, so the toss will take place at 10am tomorrow morning, weather permitting.
