Second XI Championship: Day 1 - Leicestershire 20-1 v MCC Young Cricketers

Only five overs of play were possible on the first day of the Second XI Championship game between Leicestershire and MCC Young Cricketers at Leicester Ivanhoe CC.

After play was delayed until 3pm, MCC won the toss and invited Leicestershire to bat first.

Michael Thornely (9) was caught at second slip by Graham Clark off Jamie Porter with the last ball of the fifth over, Karl Turner (pictured right) remaining unbeaten on ten when the players left the field.

Tea was taken at the normal time, but play was abandoned for the day by the umpires at 4.30pm.
