It was a frustrating day at Grace Road for everybody connected with Leicestershire and Gloucestershire today.
The game was so delicately poised going into the third day, after Gloucestershire made 260 in reply to Leicestershire’s 269.
Leicestershire were set to resume on 12-0 in their second innings but the weather was horrendous this morning.
Heavy rains swept across Grace Road from the early hours and despite the best efforts of the groundstaff, no play was possible.
Umpires David Millns and Martin Saggers kept a close eye on the situation but the ground was simply too wet to play. There is still the prospect of a good day tomorrow with a better forecast, so we will hope to resume at 11am in the morning.
