Second team suffer washout

The Second XI Championship game between Lancashire and Leicestershire ended in a draw after a final day washout.

Leicestershire had worked themselves into a strong position but the weather had the final say despite a couple of inspections on the day.

Leicestershire picked up 13 points from a game where Tom Wells, Usman Tariq and James Sykes excelled, and Lancashire finished with 11.

The team remain unbeaten in 2014 and all eyes are now on the T20 competition, with four games in the space of two days early next week.

Leicestershire take on Middlesex at Market Harborough on Bank Holiday Monday and Unicorns at Kibworth on Tuesday (both start at 11.30am).
