Seconds ready for another big game

Leicestershire Second XI are ready for another huge encounter at Grace Road tomorrow morning.

The team produced two nerveless performances on Finals Day to win the Second XI T20 competition at Arundel earlier this season and now take on Middlesex in the Second XI Trophy semi-final (10.30am start).

Lloyd Tennant’s charges won seven group games, had one rained off and suffered a solitary loss to MCC Young Cricketers as part of a terrific 50-over campaign.

The lads are now looking for another victory, which would set up a showpiece game on Monday, September 8th. That match would be against either Sussex or Lancashire, who meet at Horsham at the same time as our game against Middlesex.

Leicestershire also have a Championship Final to look forward to on Tuesday, September 16. That will be a four-day contest, with the opposition and venue to be confirmed in due course.

Please come down to support the team tomorrow if you can – admission is free.

* Please note that the Second XI Friendly against Scotland, scheduled to take place at Grace Road on Wednesday until Friday, has been postponed.
