The former Leicestershire batsman has been an important link between the cricket club and the Leicestershire and Rutland cricket board in recent years.

Cobb carries out his work as High Performance Coach at Grace Road, overseeing the various coaching activities at different age group levels.

He made 122 first class appearances for Leicestershire in a career that spanned nine years from 1980 to 1989, during which he averaged 24.37 in that form of cricket.

His coaching skills have played a key role in the development of many young players in and around the county since his retirement from the professional staff. His son, Josh, established himself as a Leicestershire first-teamer in 2008.
