Last time we met - Glamorgan

Glamorgan and Leicestershire have only met once before in T20 cricket - at the 2004 Finals Day, which the Foxes went on to win.

The Foxes batted first and made in 165-5 from their 20 overs at Edgbaston. Darren Maddy, who went on to represent England in the T20I format, made a rapid 72 from 40 balls. Maddy was supported by skipper Brad Hodge (22) and Darren Stevens (27).

Glamorgan’s side contained three international bowlers in Australian Michael Kasprowicz and locals Robert Croft and Alex Wharf. The trio showed their class in all going below eight an over.

Leicestershire bowled and fielded extremely well to secure victory. Overseas fast bowler Mark Cleary bowled three overs, conceded just 20 runs and took three wickets. Maddy’s fine game continued as his three overs went for 22 runs and included a wicket.

David Hemp had given Glamorgan some hope with a quickfire 44 but when left arm spinner Claude Henderson dismissed him Leicestershire had pretty much booked their place in the final, which they went on to win by seven wickets against Surrey.
