REPORT | Heavy rain ensured that there was no play on the third day of the Specsavers County Championship game between Leicestershire and Durham at the Fischer County Ground.

Overnight precipitation had left the ground in a saturated state and prolonged periods of rain followed, meaning there was no chance of play.

Umpires Neil Bainton and Michael Burns monitored the situation but there was little they could do as the rain continued to fall.

The teams will try again tomorrow, weather permitting, with Leicestershire at 124 for 4 in their first innings replying to Durham’s 525 for 8 declared.
