FoGR winter lunches 2017-18
The Friends of Grace Road are again holding a series of luncheons in the Charles Palmer Suite at the Fischer County Ground over the winter.
Our first three-course lunch will be held on Friday, November 3 and the menu is now available.
A starter of twice baked Somerset cheddar and caramelised onion soufflé. It is followed by slow pot roasted blade of English Beef set on a horseradish and sage mash for main.
Dessert is a pot au chocolate with poached raspberries in Drambuie, and a cafetiere of coffee and Red Fox mints will be served after the meal.
Our guest speaker for the event is Mike Harrison. The Leicester Tigers today is an entirely different club to that of the early 1960s. Mike has seen it all!
Mike is an Old Wyggestonian both as a pupil and a teacher. He was a highly promising rugby player at school and university and represented England Students.
He became a Leicester Tigers player in 1962 and still represents the club today, 55 years later. Mike has kindly agreed to attend the lunch to present to us an insight into ‘From Player to President - Over 50 Years a Tiger!’
The lunches start at 12.30pm but the Fox Bar will be open at 12 noon if anyone wishes to enjoy a pre-lunch drink.
Dates of the other lunches are as follows:
- Friday, February 2, 2018
- Friday, March 2, 2018
All lunches will cost £17.95 per person. You can secure a place at any of the lunches by calling 0116 283 2128 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
