Name - Alastair Maiden

Alastair joined Leicestershire County Cricket Club as the club’s new Head of Academy in January 2020.

Maiden came with a host of experience through a number of senior roles in cricket, including most recently as Interim Head Coach of England Women’s Cricket Team, who have enjoyed great success against Pakistan in Kuala Lumpur.

He previously worked as Assistant Coach to England Women Head Coach Mark Robinson, including the ICC World Cup win in 2017, and was also England Women’s Development Programme Lead Batting Coach from 2011 to 2016.

An ECB Level Four Coach with a specialism in batting, Maiden had a playing career that took in a spell at Leicestershire Second XI.

The 37-year-old started his coaching career at Durham CCC, working as Community Cricket Coach for Durham Cricket Board and Assistant Academy Coach before going on to lead the Second XI. During this time, Maiden learnt his trade as a coach and the club had success in developing its own players, with several going on to play for England.
