Off-spinner, dynamic batsman and excellent fielder Arron Lilley signed for Leicestershire CCC on a two-year-contract at the end of the 2018 season.

Born in Greater Manchester, Lilley initially broke into the Red Rose county as a bowler but is also a more than capable batsman who has been promoted up the order in white ball cricket in a similar role to Ben Raine.

He is also renowned for dynamic fielding; not only by taking catches, but also for saving runs and his brilliant relay work on the boundary edge.

A T20 Blast winner with native county Lancashire Lightning in 2015, Lilley scored 22 not out off 17 balls and returned figures of nought for 20 from three overs in the final against Northaptonshire Steelbacks, a game in which Foxes seamer Gavin Griffiths also played.

He also played alongside former-Leicestershire CCC captain Paul Horton during his time at Emirates Old Trafford, and, like Griffiths, Harry Dearden and Callum Parkinson, came through Lancashire CCC’s Academy system.

Lilley’s impressive T20 career record has seen 1,064 runs scored at a strike rate of 150.70 and 43 wickets as well as 46 catches in the outfield.

The fomer-Lancashire man played an important role in Colin Ackermann's world-record setting T20 figures of 7-18 against Birmingham Bears in 2019 as he claimed two catches, including the seventh wicket of Jeetan Patel.

Lilley signed a white-ball contract ahead of the 2021 season, as Paul Nixon began to build and exciting, young, white-ball squad folloiwng a trip to the 2020 Vitality Blast quarter-final.
