Talented all-rounder Ben Mike graduated from the Club’s thriving Academy, signing his first professional contract at the Uptonsteel County Ground in August 2018.

During the 2018 season, Mike made his first-class and List A debuts for the Club. His first-class debut was one to remember as he took 9 wickets for 94 runs away at Hove in a fixture in which Sussex CCC ran out victors.

He then made his List A debut for the club against India A, played in the two-day tourist match against Pakistan, and also excelled for the Second XI.

The all-rounder scored 71* in the Championship game at Yorkshire CCC and took four for 37 in the Championship success against Northamptonshire Second XI. Mike was also the club’s leading wicket-taker in the SET20 competition.

Mike then spent a period of the 2019 season on loan at Warwickshire CCC in Divison One of the Specsavers County Championship, where he earned plaudits for putting on a game-saving seventh wicket partnership of 120 alongside Sam Hain, in which Mike posted a first-class best of 72 to earn a draw against Hampshire CCC.

The 2020 season saw Mike once again make the the headlines for the Running Foxes, this time in the Vitality Blast as he sent Adam Lyth of Yorkshire Vikings for a massive, last-ball, match winning six at the Uptonsteel County Ground during the journey to the quarter-final.
