Neil Dexter enjoyed an excellent first season in Leicestershire colours after joining the club from Middlesex at the end of the 2015 campaign.

The experienced all-rounder started his county career at Kent and also enjoyed a spell at Essex. Dexter moved past the 7,000-run mark in first-class cricket in 2017 and has also taken 148 wickets.

Dexter showed his all-round credentials during the 2017 season. Dexter bought a balance to the Leicestershire side. He scored a century against Worcestershire and took five wicket hauls in back-to-back games against Durham and Kent.

Dexter has passed fifty on 38 occasions in first-class cricket, converting 17 of those scores into hundreds.

The Soiuth African has batted in different positions and also has the canny knack of coming on and taking vital wickets in the Specsavers County Championship, often when a partnership was developing.

Dexter has also played an important role in white ball cricket with his ability to work the ball around and bowl economical spells. His vast experience and knowledge was a welcome addition to the dressing room across all competitions.

In 2018, Dexter's experience at the crease was key for the Foxes as he amassed 585 runs in the Specsavers County Championship, 121 in the Royal London One-Day Cup and 296 in the Vitality Blast, while his knack of taking wickets at key moments was again important.
