Taylor has made a highly promising start to his career. His maiden first-class wicket was that of South Africa international Hashim Amla and his first five-for followed against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham.

The seamer returned career-best figures of 6 for 61 against Lancashire and also has an impressive pedigree with the bat, including a highest score of 80 versus Kent.

He demonstrated that ability against Leicestershire Second XI during the 2017 season, posting a fine century during the Championship game at Kibworth.

Taylor made a solitary appearance in 2017 which came in the Specsavers County Championship where he finished up with an impressive match haul of six for 92 and a batting average of 15.33
