POINTS | Northants Steelbacks 1, Leicestershire Foxes 1
REPORT | Northants Steelbacks and Leicestershire Foxes suffered frustration for the second Friday in succession as the Vitality Blast fixture was washed out at Wantage Road.
The two teams took a point apiece last week, and there was the same outcome this evening, albeit in different circumstances.
A total of 22.4 overs of play were possible at the Fischer County Ground, but there was not a single ball bowled tonight.
The forecast was horrendous, and proved right, as a huge band of heavy rain swept up and across the country.
Umpires Paul Pollard and James Middlebrook were left with no option but to call the game off at 5.45pm.
It means Leicestershire Foxes have taken 11 points from their first 11 games, keeping them in the top four of an incredibly tight north section as all four games were called off tonight.
There are now three big games to go for the Foxes.
The double-header at the Fischer County Ground could prove pivotal next weekend, with the visit of Notts Outlaws (Friday, 6.30pm start) followed by another East Midlands derby against Derbyshire Falcons (Sunday, 2.30pm start).
Leicestershire Foxes then travel to Lancashire Lightning for the final group match at Emirates Old Trafford on Friday, August 30.
