Alex Evans signs first contract with Leicestershire CCC
Leicestershire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that Academy Graduate Alex Evans has signed his first contract with the club.
The 19-year-old seamer will combine playing for the Foxes with his studies and playing commitments at Loughborough University in 2020.
Evans started and ended a breakthrough first-class 2019 season at the Fischer County Ground. He bowled well for Loughborough MCCU in the fixture against County in March and made his Leicestershire CCC debut towards the end of the season against Northamptonshire CCC.
The youngster went on to take four wickets in that match, and then collected the Young Player of the Year trophy at the 2019 End of Season Awards Evening.

It capped off an excellent season for Evans, who regularly took wickets for Leicestershire Second XI, including a five-for in the Championship final against Hampshire CCC.
All told, Evans took an impressive 26 wickets in seven three-day appearances, leading to his First XI call-up in September.
Evans said: “I am really grateful to Leicestershire County Cricket Club for this brilliant opportunity.
"I would like to thank everyone who has helped me get to this stage of my career. I wouldn't be here without the support of all of my coaches, family and friends."
Head Coach Paul Nixon is pleased to add Evans to his armoury as he assembles a young, exciting squad for the forthcoming season.
Nixon said: “We are absolutely delighted to have Alex on board with us at the Foxes, he is a quality young man with a fine attitude. He has a bright future and we look forward to him continuing his development with us.”
