Foxes Summer Play Scheme

Looking for something fun to do in the school holidays? The weather has turned beautiful recently, and Leicestershire County Cricket Club is running the Foxes Summer Play Scheme for children aged 5 to 11 this summer.

Starting on Monday, July 22, the programme will run weekly from Monday to Thursday until Thursday, August 15 at Rushey Mead Academy, LE4 7AN.

Up to 30 places on the Summer Play Scheme will be fully funded for children who are eligible for free school meals on a first come, first served basis.

Alternatively, children who do not qualify for free school meals can also attend at a small cost of £10 per day or £35 for the week. Please visit for more information on the eligibility criteria.

Working with local partners (LRS, Leicestershire County Council, VAL) we have secured funding via Barnardo's to provide our Foxes Summer Play Scheme. The aim for children who attend is:

- To eat healthier over the summer holidays

- To be more active over the summer holidays

- To take part in engaging and enriching activities which support the development of resilience, character, wellbeing and other skills

- To be safe and not to be socially isolated

- To have greater knowledge of health and nutrition

- To be more engaged with school and other local services and to have greater knowledge and awareness of local free holiday provision

Full details on our programme and the day-to-day activities can be found on the flyer below.
