No play on day one against Middlesex

DAY 1 | Leicestershire CCC v Middlesex CCC

SCORECARD | Available from Cricinfo HERE

REPORT | Steady and persistent rain meant that no play was possible on the first day of the Specsavers County Championship match between Leicestershire CCC and Middlesex CCC at the Fischer County Ground, Grace Road.

Precipitation began falling shortly before 10.30am, meaning the toss was delayed. The weather forecast for the area suggested the prospects of any play during the day were slim – and so it proved.

Umpires Steve O’Shaughnessy and Ulhas Gandhe monitored the situation but there was no let-up in the weather – and conditions worsened around 3.45pm.

The two teams will try again tomorrow.
