Foxes 50

Almost one hundred people attended the Foxes 50 launch on Friday, January 31, 2020, where the board unveiled the club’s new commercial strategy which aims to deliver long-term success on and off the pitch.

The Foxes 50 business club is a place where businesses can meet on a regular basis, network and create lasting relationships all whilst taking in what facilities the Fischer County Ground has to offer.

The mission for the Foxes 50 is to take a modern approach to commercial engagement, creating a unique connected business and community hub for the people and businesses of Leicestershire. It will use cricket as the conduit for businesses and individuals to meet and engage with each other as well as Leicestershire CCC.

Karen Rothery, CEO for LCCC said the bold new strategy would give businesses the chance to become part of the fabric of the club, while helping grow local cricket talent and network with the business community.

“Our diverse new board is highly skilled and has developed an exciting new plan which will secure the future of this historic club. We’re honoured to have the support of many local businesses already and the Foxes 50 club will strengthen those relationships further, whilst building new ones with business owners,” she said.

We want to introduce new people into the world of business and networking at the same time as making them feel part of the fabric of Leicestershire CCC – to take people out of the fast-paced reality which comes with owning a business and give them time to relax and do the things they enjoy in the hidden sanctuary of Leicestershire County Cricket Club based in the heart of the city.

Not only is the Foxes 50 a business club, but also a sponsorship package which will engrain companies within the Club as we look to move towards a more self-sustaining future.

Tracey Branson, Commercial Manager at Leicestershire County Cricket Club said: "It [the Foxes 50 business club] is something that we have looked to do to think a little bit outside of the box.

"What we want to do at Leicestershire is to become self-funding and not be so heavily reliant upon the ECB. We think that there is a niche in the market amongst the large amount of networking business club's out there.

"We wanted to be a little bit different and we can offer each member access to our players, branding around the ground and on social media - it is something a bit different and it is about fun -  that is the emphasis on it, as well as for each member to give a little bit back to each other."

The unique touch that we can offer at the Fischer County Ground is that your sponsorship package is tailor-made to what fits your day to day business model and what you want to get out of the relationship with the club.

Tracey continued: "Companies will pay an entry level fee to be a part of the Foxes 50 and that fee is based around commercial properties that suits their business needs. The package is completely flexible."

Existing sponsors automatically join the exclusive Foxes 50 club, which tailors bespoke corporate packages to 50 businesses.

One of these organisations is Clements, the luxury retail interiors & creative agency specialists based in Leicester. Dale Page, director, explained that Clements is one of the club’s longest-standing sponsors.

“As a local business that operates nationally we see the benefits of investing in a local sports club that’s steeped in history. With more than 70 employees based in the area, it’s a great tool for staff engagement, CSR and client hospitality,” he said.

Package benefits can range from advertising around the Fischer County Ground which has the potential to hold up to 6,000 spectators for cricket fixtures and up to 19,999 spectators for events such as concerts, to owning a private box throughout the course of the season for every Leicestershire CCC fixture and to use as an office or meeting space on non-cricket days.

The beauty of the Foxes 50 is that your benefits package is bespoke to you. You choose what you want to get out of the partnership with the Club, we just act as an intermediary to get you connected with like-minded people like yourself.

Tracey added: “This is such an exciting time for the club. The Foxes 50 launch is a vital part of our long-term business strategy, which will truly bring together the business community through a love of cricket.”
