Leicestershire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that batsman Ben Slater is joining on loan from Nottinghamshire CCC.

The 28-year-old opener will be available for the Bob Willis Trophy games against Lancashire CCC and Derbyshire CCC.

Slater has recorded 4,604 first-class runs at an average of 31.31, including five centuries and a best score of 130.

The batsman also has an impressive record in white ball cricket with an average of 55.55 in List A and a T20 high of 57.

Leicestershire CCC Head Coach Paul Nixon said: “We are delighted to that announce Ben [Slater] will be joining us on loan.

“Ben scored over 1,100 runs in the championship a couple of years ago. He is a high class player who our young players will learn a great deal from.

“It’s a really exciting time for the club and it’s great to have Ben join us as a Running Fox.

“I’d like to thank Nottinghamshire CCC for their support in the move for Ben.”
