Reflecting upon the 2020 Season

Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s 2020 season came to an end in dramatic fashion during the Vitality Blast Quarter-Final match against Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge.

The Foxes fought to the bitter end against the tournament favourites to result in a tied match. The result went to wickets taken, which was also tied so, the result was determined on runs scored in the powerplay and Notts progressed through to Finals Day.

Reflecting upon the season as a whole, Leicestershire County Cricket Club CEO, Sean Jarvis, said “I am so incredibly proud of how the squad has performed across the competition. They have shown aggression, passion and determination which epitomises the new era of the Club.

“The team will take a lot of learnings from the season as a whole, and apply that into the winter.

“As the season has closed, I’d like to thank all fans, members, supporters, sponsors and corporate partners and anyone connected with the Club during what has been an unprecedented season.

”The Fischer County Ground has not been the same without you cheering on the Foxes. Hopefully we can welcome back crowds next season.

“For now, we will group together as a Club and then go again for 2021.

”We need the continued support of those already close to the Club and welcome new faces to join the #runningfoxes on what will be an exciting journey."
